"Always A Witch" by Carolyn MacCullough, the conclusion to "Once A Witch".
Tamsin is still coming to terms with her new-found talent, processing the fact that her family lied to her, and wondering what her Grandmother meant by saying she will have to make a terrible choice. She knows she must right the wrongs caused by her previous actions and save the future of the Greene family. Tamsin's sister and Grandmother have the talent of getting glimpses of the future, and they both see that the entire family stops existing. The handsome stranger, Allistair Knight has traveled to the past to see to that.
Tamsin finds she too must travel to the early 1900's, where she becomes a maidservant to the evil Knight family while trying to find a way to stop the events that lead to the Knight family wiping out her family. As her love for Gabriel grows, she feels the need to keep him out of her plans, to ensure his safety. Gabriel, however, does not agree and is determined to see her through this regardless.
Surviving a series of "close calls" with the Knight Family, Tamsin finally learns the devastating choice she must make. Which choice will she make, and will it lead to the salvation of the Greene family?
Like the previous book in the series, I also read this book in less than 2 days. I simply could not get enough of Tamsin and Gabriel and ignored my family until I finished the book. If ever there is a book series to trade sleep for, this is it. This was a beautiful conclusion to "Once A Witch" and a world with characters that I'd love to see re-visited in the future, should the author decide to write more.
